About the 2 1/2…

This is a blog about a family of foodies who live in Clifton Park, NY and try to eat their way around the Upstate, NY region and beyond.

Cindy:  Consumes large amounts of food, so much that people are sometimes awestruck and feel compelled to comment.

  • Favorite Foods:  French fries, burgers, spaghetti and meatballs, fresh fruit, any vegetables

J:  Does not have the “too full” indicator that most normal people have in their brains.  Must be manually told to stop eating (sometimes repeatedly).

  • Favorite Foods:  Crabcakes, any type of weird meat (sweetbreads, tongue, ears), cheese (the smellier the better)

Future Foodie (FF): Will sometimes eat more than a full sized adult but then go a whole day without eating more than a handful of cheerios.  Go figure.

  • Favorite Foods: Cheese, milk, crackers, brussel sprouts, beets, melon (any kind), bagels, however can hate all of these foods the next day

Little Miss Fussy is about the same age as Future Foodie. It’s an odd age for food preferences. She too will love something, and in two days want nothing to do with it.

The only green thing she doesn’t pick out of her food is the basil in a batch of pesto. Perhaps because it’s delicious, but likely she recognizes the futility of the task.

It’s so funny how quickly they decide they don’t like something. Sometimes I just need to be okay with her eating cheese and crackers…but at least we keep trying to get her to try new things.

  2. Hi, nice to meet you !

I love this blog. We just started a blog about Capital Region sushi! My Granddaughter is still not on solid food yet and we can’t wait till she has her first bite of sushi! Also, my husband does not have that “full feeling” and eats VERY SLOW. So I’m sometimes stuck watching him eat for what seems like a very long time.
